Stable Properties and Monotonic Truth

In their seminal paper of photographing birds, K. Mani Chandy and Leslie Lamport defined the Stable Property Detection Problem.

A system in their world view experiences state transitions S->S’; because of my lineage I prefer to think of the language accepted by a model that admits every valid execution history of the system. In either case, we’d agree that something is changing with respect to time and it is discrete.

A stable property true at time t_i will necessarily remain true for all t_j where i < j.

A stable property requires no mutual exclusion to act upon its truth.

A stable property is a monotonic truth.
